I have a lot of clients asking me if they could still have the body they use to have. If they could still achieve a 21 to 23 inch waistline with a thin arm and a tight abs. So I ask them back the questions, “do you want to have your old figure back?” And they are taken aback by my question. Then they started coming out with their dilemma, “I’m too old,” “I have 4 children already,” “I don’t have the time or schedule,” “my metabolism is slow,” I have hypertension,” and so on and so on.
Well here is my say to that as a Physician and a practitioner of healthy lifestyle; YES! You can have your old figure or even a better figure now. So your question is does it involve surgery? No it doesn’t, but it does need a lot of discipline. I have a client had her baby and weigh at least 160 pounds during her pregnancy. Went depressed after giving birth and decided to workout. She enrolled in a gym 6 months after giving birth and joined different dance classes on a regular basis and her old body is history. Now she has a 6 packs perfect figure, perky breasts and tight butt. I asked her how it feels having your old figure back. She answered, I felt great except you’re wrong about having my old figure back. I ask what she meant. She said my figure now is far better than I used to have when I was younger. I never knew I had 6 packs, she giggled. Another client of mine on her late 50’s, 5 children, loves to walk and enjoys yoga classes; when I look at her, I always see a vibrant face on her with a figure of a 20+ young lady. No sagging arms, very tight abs, no surgeries yet or any sort. What is her secret? “Dedication and discipline” then she smiled back at me.
You see there’s no secret or magic pill to getting back in shape, but it takes a lot of discipline and dedication. Add a little motivation and a life’s coach, and you’re on your way to having that dream figure.
So as the physician of Kutis Filipina, you might wonder how I can help you. Well, I will be your motivator and your coach, and at the same time, I will remove those stubborn fats that you have. Support your beginning phase, mid, and advance phase with some machines and support to target specific fat group and muscle group. But the first thing that we must do is to help you have a change in perspective that “YOU WILL” and “YOU CAN” and develop a disciplined mind that “YOU’LL ACHIEVE IT.” Be happy in working out.
Remember before you begin any slimming program, the very first thing you need to ask yourself is “Am I willing to maintain it?” And the best way to maintain it is thru Diet. But diet doesn’t mean not eating. It came from the Latin word Dieta meaning lifestyle modification. It means a change of habit. If you eat poor-nutrient food, change it to healthy food. If you don’t do any activities, change that. Stand up, get out and play. Remember the success is dependent to your mind set; your growth can only be limited by your will and determination. So it’s better to begin in mindset first then in body. And we will be cheering you on to your finish line.
